I have enjoyed the outings that I've being on and the
new friends I have made, seems like a decent and good
hearted bunch of people who know how to have a laugh
and have fun, also good eaters. To go riding with the
SABERS is very pleasurable and to go out and enjoy the
country side and all of it's spoils with the SABERS is a
awesome experience. I’ll look forward to many enjoyable
rides in the future.
Cheers Mark
Darrin's Run 18/1/09
I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone on today's
ride.. committee members and riders. As you know, it was
not only Darrin's first ride as the ride leader, but
also his first ride on his new bike. We appreciated your
sincere congratulations and the space and patience in
letting Darrin getting to know his bike, working out his
limitations with it, and taking things at his own pace.
As the pillion on this test run, let me tell you, I
sincerely appreciated it! haha. I'm sure Darrin will
have his own words to say in the ride report.
As per usual, the SABERS rose to the task in supporting
a fellow rider. Truly a great start to this year's
calendar with an awesome turn out.
Thanks everyone!

Wasn't it a great ride yesterday! I really love how we
have new people come for a ride and before the ride is
concluded we have new financial members! A true
testament as to the the club we are. The riding is one
aspect but the social aspect is the biggie one for me..
as a pillion (I got the nick name Spirit Level
yesterday.. very cute!) Definitely the highlight of
yesterday was in Victor when John got very excited! I
think our newest member will make mental note never to
mention yellow scooter riders again! Hell I'm
still crying!! Thanks for the laughs John.. you're a
legend.. I read a note you left for Bryan when you
thanked him for a great ride.. 5 ferries.. said you were
returning and bringing others with you! In light
of your excitability yesterday.. I'm scared!! lol.
Thanks all for a great day.. particularly new members..
they are awesome people.. so glad you're with us!
YEP DAVE... I MISS THE FORUM!!!!!

My name is Brenton Ellis and I just want to pass on my
thanks to all of those SABERS members who I accidentally
joined intending to go on a SAMRATS ride Sunday 4th of
January 2009.
Unwittingly I had got my wires crossed ands stopped at
the BP St Mary's thinking I was going on my first
SAMRATS ride as a member. Not knowing many people I
introduced myself to a number of riders and was made to
feel very welcome.
It was not until in passing I asked someone if "Jock"
was coming that it was pointed out to me that he had a
MRA (SAMRATS) ride on today.
Feeling somewhat foolish I had to fess up and identify
myself as a SAMRATS member who had stuffed up the info
on ride start location. This did evoke some amusement.
As it was 9.55am for a 10 am leave from West Terrace I
had missed my chance to jump ship for the SAMRATS run,
so I asked if I could join in with the SABERS. "No
Problem" was the immediate reply.
I had a fantastic day on an extremely well run and safe
ride and everyone I spoke to was friendly and helpful.
Special thanks to Fred, Dave, John (well in fact
everyone) who sold the SABERS ethic and social
atmosphere to the point that I signed up at the lunch
break in Victor Harbor.
I look forward to many such rides in the future with
SABERS.
Thanks again everyone, with this kind of organization
and easygoing group it is no wonder that SABERS has such
a good name. I had heard of the club before but now I
have experienced it for myself.
Cheers
Brenton
To the ride leaders
I would like to say thanks to all the guys that lead
rides this year..
You all did a fantastic job to make the rides
great...
Both myself and Chris had a ball on all rides and
thanks to all that put up pics on the site for us
all to see..
Look forward to many more fun days out on rides..

Saturday's ride 1st
November
Dave and Grant,
Just like to let you guys know it was a great ride
on Saturday even though you had to plan it as you
went, and thanks to the guys and girls for putting
on a BBQ breakfast before we left.
P.S. Get well soon Jen
Darrin and Chris
Went for the
ride to Mannum on Sunday, Had a ball, and was made
to feel welcome by all those there even though I am
a foreigner (West Australian)
Even though I
left the group at Sedan And shot off to Blanchetown,
I enjoyed the back roads thru to the Coffee break.
It did the K12 (Light Truck) good to stretch it's
legs on some of the open roads, it hasn't done that
for a while and we were both missing it.
Your roads here
take some getting used to (They have bends in them)
where I have come from the roads in WA are straight,
no where near as much fun.
Once again many
thanks for the ride and after this experience, a
membership form is coming your way.

Hi Grant
Thanks for your note. Yep, really enjoyed the ride (I
peeled off at Cherry Gardens to get home in time for
wife to leave for work). I was surprised by the number
of people who were friendly and easy to chat with - it
just makes it so much more enjoyable. From what I've
see I think you and Dave are doing a really good job
following difficult circumstances, and I heard comments
to that effect as well. Certainly, depending on work,
kids, sport, wife's permission!, etc I'll be coming out
as often as I can. Roll on Philip Island!
Cheers

Bryan,
For some reason I just can't seem to get the HUGE grin off my face....
Thanks for letting us tag along with you fine folk this morning. It was
one of the best rides I have been on in a LONG time. My lovely wife is
completely SICK of me RAVING on and on about how good it was and
how much I enjoyed both the ride and the company. I now have two
more wishes in life; That you guys keep on doing what your doing ('Cause
you're very good at it - and I think it's VERY important) and that
someday I'll be able to ride with y'all once more......Until then.....
Stay upright,
HUGE respect,
kindest regards,
Steve Auld
